Anorthoclase Feldspar \"Moonstone\" with very nice blue schiller.. It is from the Stettin Pluton and part of a Pegmatite that has been the only source for the this Wisconsin Moonstone as it is only found in a 4 square mile area (all on private property. This piece shows the blue schiller on two faces but since it is rough it could be cut and or polished to really bring that effect out more. It has been cleaned with in an Iron-Out bath to remove the majority of the Iron staining that these are always coated with.The specimen is a Pegmatite material and is comprised of large perthitic Anorthoclase Feldspar crystal as well as some minor accessory minerals such as Arfvesdonite, Aegerine etc. possibly.Fluoresces red under short wave UV light (not pictured). From the Stettin Pegmatite in Marathon Co, Wisconsin. This type of Moonstone is only found in Marathon County Wisconsin in a four square mile radius almost all of which is private property. This was collected with permission from the landowner.40 grams. 2-1/2\" length.
