I have up for sale a wonderful vintage , dated on the underside bottom 1958 Winnebago Tribe Native American Indian Woven Split Basket with Single Swing Handle. It is signed on the bottom of the basket but I am not sure if this is the name of the maker or the name of who previously owned it. Its cursive writing in ink. The name looks like Margaret Klug 1958 from Heinrichs.
I am not an expert in regards to Native American basketry but am confident that this is an old Winnebago Tribe basket.The basket stands apprx 9\" to the top rim and roughly 11\" across. Its circular but not completely symetric .
It is in Very Good Original Condition , the only minor negative is a slight bit of staining in one small area and the color of the dyed weave has faded over time. Its in Excellent structural condition and has an attractive shape. Its basically circular.
