Beautiful 8” wide, creamy ivory watered silk taffeta Ribbon. Ivory tone on tone floral pattern. In very good condition. I don’t see any shattering of the silk when I held it to the light. No stains. So hard to find antique silk ribbon in this condition.
The silk has a very slight stiffness to it. Like taffeta, but thinner. Would hold the shape of whatever you decide to do with it. I believe that this was originally purchased to use as a wide waist ribbon for a dress or skirt. Clearly parts of the ribbon were damaged and I ended up with 3 pieces. (The other 2 shorter pieces are offered in another listing) Could be used for hats, doll clothing, child?s dresses or silk flowers. One tiny nick along the edge near the end and one tiny flea bite -, also near the end. Would work well for trim in any project. (Slow stitching, crazy quilts etc.)
This piece measures a generous 8” x 44”. Hard to find wide silk ribbon from this period that isn’t shattered.
