This is for a limited edition (250 made) motto Liverpool jug designed by Alan Price and made in England by Wedgwood in 1978. It showcases a 1755 saying by Alexander Pope, \" What war would ravish, commerce could bestow, and he returned a friend, who came a foe.\" It was commissioned by Andrew M. Hay, who according to online research, was consul to Oregon from England as well as president of an old coconut importing company. An odd assortment - steam tractor, the Concorde, palm trees, an eagle banner and ship are represented.It\'s in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and minimal signs of use.Measurements: 6 3/8\" high x 6 1/2\" handle to spout.Weight: 1 lb 5 oz prior to packing.
