For your consideration is this Wards Cast Iron long griddle from Montgomery Ward & Company. In the 1930’s, Montgomery Ward contracted the production of their own line of cast iron cookware to the Wagner Manufacturing Company of Sidney, Ohio. Their lines included both Wards and Wardway cast iron pieces.
This piece has been fully restored using electrolysis and arrives ready to use.
The cooking surface is in great shape, smooth with minimal utensil markings.
The bottom has some light pitting across most of it. While the Wards logo is a little faded, it is still legible.
Each end of the griddle has a handle for lifting.
While both Wagner Ware and Montgomery Wards eventually dissolved, this long griddle is a lasting reminder of the collaboration between the two American icons.
