This is something I picked up some 40 years back and never got around to doing any research.
The yellow fold out sheet pretty much covers when he was captured and the different camps he was moved to while in Germany and how he was treated by the Nazis while in captivity.
The two Camp 8-C letter post are dated and one to his girl and the other to his dad in Toronto Canada. There is also a photo of his girl as seen .
HISTORY
Frederick Perry Weegar was a Corperal l in the 4th Division Algenquin Regiment in the Canadian ArmyHe was captured on October 31st 1944 in the battle of the liberation of BERGEN Op ZoomFred was either with the S. Alberta Regiment or the Lincoln & Welland Regiment on the mission to capture Scheldt Estuary so that the Antwerp Port could be used for the supply of troops. There a fierce battle took place for days until the German army retreated taking with them the prisoners they captured from the 4th Division they captured on 31st of October
It looks like they shuffled him to a few different camps during his stay in Germany / Camps 8-C in Sagen that was near the famous Stalag Luft 3 camp for officers . Camp 11-B in Amersfort *** NOTE In an other sale I will have a sign from that camp that he carried back in his pack. It is all folded up, but it is the REAL DEAL ***The famous brutal Camp BAD-ORB that many of the U.S solders ended up in from the Battle ofthe Bulge
This yellow sheet also covers the hardships he and other men endured while in the hands of the Nazis

The best part of this sale is we have the original POW Camp VIII-C German issue Dog Tag with his Prisoner number that matches the Prisoner number on his Letter Posts from the Camp

I believe the Telegram sent to parents informing them of MISSING IN ACTION is a COPY of an original.I never had the time t do any research on this grouping. I am sure someone will love to have it for their Prisoner Of War Collection
