Actually, until I was a teenager in the 1960s, I didn\'t even know that comic books like this had EXISTED (until the Comics Code Authority of the mid-1950s had snuffed them from existence!). We had lived in a suburb of a suburb of a suburb, and the few comic book spinners available to kids of my age in the 1950s featured only Dell Comics, DC Comics, Classics Illustrated, and an assortment of other \"safe\" comics that could only give nightmares to children whose psyches had been damaged by attempts to question the logic of animals who could talk. In other words -- NO HORROR COMICS!!!
