E Woodward. 1865 First Edition. 139 pp. + 4 pp. There is a bound-in insert of Book advertisements upfront after the title page and 4 pp. of book ads at the rear. Numerous wood engravings.Condition: Used. Hardcover, Very Good. First Edition Published by Geo. E. Woodward, 191 Broadway, New York. 139pp. including numerous wood-engraved illustrations (many full-page) plus [4]pp. of advertisements. Original blind-stamped maroon cloth, spinegilt. The bottom spine is frayed from shelf wear and the corners are slightly bumped otherwise the book is in Very Good condition. Fly Leaves are intact, binding tight, and all interior pages are free of markings or foxing. The book measures approx. 7.5 inches tall by 5 inches wide. There is a pencil inscription by the prior owner at the top edge of the Introduction page that reads G. W. Rawson, Whittinsville [Mass.] Dec. 14th, 1875.
