A Unique 9" Hand-Painted Fan Tray by Helena Wolfsohn
Likely a pre-1878 piece with gorgeous details! This early piece of Helena Wolfsohn porcelain willleave you breathless! An intricate and detailed hand-painted sceneof a romanticVictorian couple in mid-Summer is bordered by a lush arrangement of trellised roses!The fan-shaped piece features almost overwhelming details, such as tiny littlebouquets between the folds of the fan, and the most intricate gold gilt embellishment! This is likely a whimsy piece outside of Wolfsohn’susual oeuvre. It has a thin foot, and so its intended position was to be flaton a table,most likely. It could have been used as a vanity rest for combs orother styling products. I have not found other pieces like this, so do not missyour opportunity to add what might be a one-of-a-kind piece of antique Dresdenporcelain to your collection! This piece is stamped on the back with the blue D-Crownmark. This was used by Wolfsohn between 1843 and 1878.
Condition: This piece is in EXCELLENT condition! It shows some very light surface wear, manifest mostly on minor rubbing to the gilt accents. Otherwise, this piece is free from any signs of use, wear, damage, and repair! This fantastic piece has a bright overglaze and wonderfully well-preserved painted scene and would stand out in any collection! Measurements (approx): Length: 9 in
