It was part of the Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC) and was retired in 2009. This collectible is highly sought after by Disney and Pirates of the Caribbean fans alike. The figurine was the fifth in the popular WDCC Pirates of the Caribbean series to be released. The popularity of the ride led WDCC fans to request the creation of this series, and now you can build your home version of the famous ride with all these amazing scene recreations. The figurine has a height of 11 inches.
This sculpture is NEW IN BOX, NEVER REMOVED OR DISPLAYED. I only opened the box to take pictures. And I removed some of the outside packaging to take pictures, but did not disturb any foam packaging that held anything in place. I didn\'t even take out of the box. I tried to move my camera in and around the figure while it was still in the box. Not the best pictures, but I wanted to disturb as little as possible. This Pirates of the Caribbean sculpture is in brand-new-from-the-manufacturer condition. It comes in original box with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY and all original packaging.
This is a big box and would be mailed in a box that is 16\" x 16\" x 16\" box, so the cheapest shipping would probably be UPS or USPS Ground Advantage. OR you could pick it up locally, if applicable.

The Classics Collection started in 1992 with three scenes, Bambi, Cinderella, and Fantasia\'s Sorcerer Apprentice. Many other series have since been introduced. Some figurines are limited, and some have been retired. Some of these figurines have risen high on the secondary market. The figurines are made of porcelain, and the process is similar to that use to make Hummel figurines. Individual pieces are molded, put together, and fired in an oven. Then they are painted and fired again. Each figurine is marked on the bottom, signifying the year it was produced. The marks represent significant milestones in Disney history. The figurines with the first year mark are usually the most desirable.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark ride at Disneyland, Walt Disney World\'s Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland. The ride tells the story of a band of pirates in the West Indies islands around the Caribbean Sea in the 17th and 18th centuries with the saga of their voyages, troubles, and exploits. The original version of the ride opened at the Disneyland in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles, in 1967, and was the last ride whose construction was envisioned and personally overseen by Walt Disney, who died three months before it opened. After immense popularity, the ride was replicated seven years later at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, near Orlando, Florida in 1973.
