WATERMAN 54 - Red-Black HARD RUBBER RIPPLE - FRESH and BRIGHT COLORS - No 4 IDEAL NIB - This is an amazingly preserved No 54 WATERMAN lever filling fountain pen - No chips or cracks and with colors so bright and strong they appear factory fresh. The pen is 5 1/4\" in length, the imprints on the barrel in 2 places is excellent, there are no personalizations and the Gold Filled trim, cap, band and lever show no wear to spec of. The ball of the Clip-Cap shows no wear as do the other GF parts, The barrel end is impressed sharply 54. The pen has 2 issues: the FLEXIBLE 14K Gold IDEAL No 4 nib is a Medium missing the tipping material or iridium on one of the tines - otherwise the nib is excellent as is the original red feed - and - the lever dangles loosely from the lever box - this may not be a big issue. The missing tip to one of the tines is barely perceptible unless a loop is used - just feeling it with the finger does not yield the scratchy sensation one usually gets in this situation, This pen in rare cosmetic condition and colors was discovered in an old estate in the blue Waterman presentation box with paper instructions AND a further outer gift box.
