This is an awesome collectible of the Panama Canal with a great story. It is a Maduro-published 52 page 11 x 9 1/4 inch booklet on heavy paper "The Panama Canal The World's Greatest Engineering Feat", tied by golden string at left. After 4 pages of text, it features 24 pages of 8 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch printed color pictures pasted on larger pages, that are framable with pages as mats; 13 are of US warships (from the USS New Mexico and USS Texas to subchasers) in the Canal (mainly in locks) and the others are of Canal Zone or Panama scenes, with another with warships on the cover. The inside front cover notes this was presented to Sister Ellie Lines Chapin from Sister Tilleie Levy; Mrs. Chapin was (at that time) the Prime Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and I believe was on a tour of OES chapters. Mrs. Levy was Tillie Jacobs Levy of the Gatun OES Chapter, wife of famed Canal Zone stamp dealer Nathan Levy. The booklet has a small cover stain at lower left and upper right corner bend, and a lower left corner crease through all pages, with small cover edge bends and some light back cover soiling at top.
