What a rare and exciting find ! Coming to us from an estate, two fragile retail boxes with lovely Metzler & Ortloff white glazed beautifully rendered angel figurines. They were still tightly wrapped in straw. Most likely from the 1930s /1940s. This listing is for one angel in one of the three available poses, In pristine condition, from the detailed curls and wings to the elegant hands and folds of the gown. 4 3/4” tall, and approximately 2” wide and deep. The makers mark on the bottom is an O overlaid with an M, the sign for Metzler & Ortloff, quality German porcelain makers. The company was founded in Thuringia, Germany in 1875 and closed in 1976.
