Vtg 1940-50’s Juanita Gonzales San Ildefonso Pueblo Black Pottery Candlesticks:

This is hand crafted San Ildefonso Pueblo high gloss blackware by indigenous artist Juanita Wo-Peen Gonzales (1909-1988). She was known as Juanita Gonzales after her marriage to Pueblo San Ildefonso artist Louis Wo-Peen Gonzales. She was an active potter from 1930-1982. The candlesticks are carved in black on black pattern. The candlesticks measure approximately 4” tall and 2” across. The bottoms are signed Juanita. The candlesticks do have some scratches as shown in the pictures and there is a chip on the bottom of one candlestick which is not visible when standing up. I would guess these were made in the 40’s-50’s. Please refer to pictures for further description of condition and measurements. And, or send me an email. Thanks for looking.
