Paper over heavy weight cardboard, with a tin metal top and removable tin metal bottom, slit in top for the insertion of coins in this advertising small 2" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/8" bank, it advertises Peter Pan Fresh Bread (vitamin and mineral enriched). On the front is a illustration of the loaf of bread and on the back is an illustration of a woman holding money and words reminding people that is is smart to be thrifty. Undated, but based on the woman's hair style, and the fact that it is made of cardboard and not all tin, my guess is that this is circa mid 1940's (shortly after the end of WW II). It must have been a promotional free give-away to sell Peter Pan bread. Condition is very good,with no problems on the front and a few minor scuffs on the back. No dents or creases in the cardboard. There are 2 other sellers with this item, with a total price much higher than my bank.
