The Virginia Creeper Sphinx Moth is a beneficial pollinator native to North America. It primarily feeds on the leaves of the Virginia creeper, grapevines, and sometimes viburnum during its larval stage. like many adult sphinx moths, this moth feeds on nectar. This nectar-feeding behavior helps with the pollination of various plant species, making these moths beneficial contributors to their ecosystems. A truly fascinating sight! They hover in flight just like hummingbirds!

Caterpillars were raised on Virginia Creeper and Riverbank grape They were very large healthy caterpillars!

the Virginia Creeper Sphinx Moth feeds on variety of nectar-rich flowers, especially those that bloom at night. Some common examples include honeysuckle, jasmine, and evening primrose. They are also known to visit flowers of garden plants like petunias and phlox. As a moth nectar can be substituted with honey water solution .
