Vintage Walnut Wooden Box With Inlaid Tunbridge Ware Lid:

An vintage walnut rectangular box measuring 12”x8”x5”. Possibly from the Georgian or Victorian periods, not exactly sure. The lid has a Tunbridge Ware inlaid design. Tunbridge Ware is pieces of painted wood inlaid into the lid in a parquet fashion. The box has four metal feet and the bottom and is stained with paint splashes. I have not attempted to remove the stain. Please see the photos. Not sure the purpose of the box. Maybe a document holder or cigar holder??
