The graphics on this ashtray depict a vagabond lying down to rest. I can't tell if his pillow is a large rock or his pack, but the patches on his clothes and the flaps showing on the soles of his shoes definitely indicate his status in the world. The bird perched on his jacket add the final touch! Just fabulous! I believe this was (is?) a West Coast chain. The shape of the ashtray suggests early 1960s to me, although it could be a little earlier. I can't find any other examples of this so I've put a starting price based on my sense of its charm. You can always make an offer!
