Vintage Very Good. It would be categorized as Vintage Excellent, except it has been around for over 60 years, and a minor part of the Chrome has speckling. It is very minor, but I call out all flaws. The brown ceramic pot is pristine.
Brown Betty Pottery USA Oven Proof Casserole Bowl/Lid/Cooling Stand
This is an original “Brown Betty” oven proof casserole that was made by The Everedy Company in Frederick, Maryland.
It is a mid-century piece that was produced between the 1950’s and 60’s (the company closed in 1977). My aunt purchased this in the 60s
This Brown pottery dish is 10” round and 2 1/2” deep. The cover and round serving ring are both stainless. No dents or nicks anywhere. Both the pottery and cover are oven proof. The cover has a brown Bakelite knob
History: From my aunt's extensive collection of Home,accessories and clothing. She had a fabulous taste level. Lots of Mid-Century Modern fabulousness!
She bought many things she intended to use but never did-this Casserole is one of them. My aunt was a buyer but not a hoarder. Everything was stored neatly in her large home in Palm Springs.
This Casserole was never used. It never saw the inside of a dishwasher or microwave. Still glossy and bright after 60 years!
