Vintage 1980s Tannereye Cocker Spaniel Leather Covered Wood Sculpture.

This is a unique, handmade leather covered wooden cocker spaniel figure made in Prince Edward Island, Canada, by the late Tannereye leather company.

Sitting on his haunches, with typical droopy eyes and ears of the breed, and lovely in form as well as crafting. The leather finish and deep brown glass eyes lend additional realism to the piece.

The base is covered in suede and is labeled and signed by the manufacturer as well as the artist signature.

About Tannereye:

Tannereye was founded in 1976 in Prince Edward Island Canada and is best known for their invention of a special leather process involving eyewear. They were the first to cover frames with a thin coating of leather, eventually supplying big names such as Ralph Lauren and Ray Ban with fashionable, functional aviator glasses.

In later years, as the proprietary process became outsourced, they began to produce leather decorative objects d\'art prior to the company\'s dissolution.

These fantastic pieces of work are no longer in production and have become rarer with the passage of time. Imagine the conversations that will evolve around the history of a 1980s leather Cocker Spaniel! Now is your chance to enjoy being custodian to a piece of Tannereye\'s legacy.
