ABOUT THIS BOX

Crafted in Switzerland by Reuge, this box features an ornately hand-carved rose on the lid. The beauty and elegance of the box are complemented by the equally-beautiful and intricate tunes played.

Lift the lid to reveal a highly-desired, world-class, Reuge 3/72 movement. The movement is clean and shiny and it looks great. The mechanism winds up smoothly and the sound quality is EXCELLENT thanks to the solid, well-constructed box. It switches between the songs effortlessly. The music starts and stops (at song end) via the front slider button. The original Reuge tune label is found on the bottom.

This music box plays three classic tunes that are very well-adapted to play on this music box. These tunes are especially intricate and require EXACT timing for the trills — and this box nails it! This is movement number 37244 playing:

Gavotte — Louis XIII

Minuet <Don Juan> — W.A. Mozart

The Magic Flute — W.A. Mozart

CONDITION

The box is in very good condition. It is structurally perfect. The finish is in good condition. There is a ding (filled) and a few small scratches on the front face. I have included a close up pics of the area. Please see the pictures for the issues — and for the beauty of this piece!

The musical movement was inspected and properly lubricated for years of use. The mechanism is clean and shiny. The sound is very rich, extremely intricate, and beautiful. There are a couple very light instances of resonance in the second tune, but no buzzes or squawks that can occur in vintage music boxes. Please see the video to hear this spectacular box!
