• My Father-in-law was a Merchant Marine during the late 20s and 30s in the last century. He visited the Orient in his duties and like all sailors, shopped the local wares when his ship put into a port. As he looked around he collected cards from the shops that had interest for him. Being a pack-rat by nature, he kept those cards in a file in his home and they came to light after is death.
