A collector's dream! This is a beautiful signed photo by listed photographer Rollin H. Mc Kay (copyright by Mc Kays) colorized photograph of "The Pinto." The log cabin lends additional charm. R. H. Mc Kay is a famous photographer who worked commercially during the first half of the 20th Century. Note his business stamp "McKay ArtCo." on the backing of the frame and the McKay Art Co. business storefront located in Missoula Montana in the photos above. His extensive collection of images can be found at the Maureen and Mike MansfieldLibrary, Archives and Special Collections, at the University of Montana.This photograph is framed in its original 19 3/4" x 17" frame circa.1915 to 1920. Photo size is 13 1/2" x 10 1/2". The Mansfield Library collection has a photo entitled "Pinto Horse/Kelly Ranch." It is possible that the Kelly Ranch in Missoula, Montana is the location of this lovely photograph. Great for any Western theme decor, cabin, child's room, etc. A wonderful addition to any collection.
