This piece was acquired from the estate of Maragaret "Meg" Blood in Fort Collins, ColoradoMeg was an active partner in her husband's successful and impactful career with the Department of State, a career that took them to Algeria, Greece, Germany East Pakistan (Bangladesh), Afghanistan and lastly India, Archers final posting in the foreign service where he served as Minister Counselor and later charge d'affaires of the US Embassy.He was famous for sending the strongly worded "Blood Telegram" protesting against the atrocities committed in the Bangladesh Liberation War and wrote 'The Cruel Birth of Bangladesh: Memoirs of an American Diplomat.The book received University Press Limited's "Outstanding Impact Award" at the UPL Excellence Awards 2018. This was one of the many treasures they collected in the adventures that took them around the world.
