In 1929, the Wall Street crash impacted Jean Patou’s bottom line due to the loss of many United States sales. His dresses were no longer bought by the wealthy American customers. Jean Patou wanted to give back to the American customers and provide them with a present, this present was called: the fragrance called: “Joy”. Henri Almeras created this extravagant perfume which required the use of 10,600 jasmine flowers and 336 roses to make one ounce of this perfume! - Based on the height and width of this bottle, I believe it is ¼ fl. oz. (I have found similar dimensions on ) There is no labeling on the bottle to indicate the size nor on the box.
- Also included is the original gold papered box, with a faux velvet interior. The condition of the inside and exterior of the box is fair. But the good news is the box has protected the perfume all of these years.
