Vintage Garant 1-1/4 lb Hatchet w/original handle. Model HU-1 1/4-14:

Interesting hatchet in as found condition. The earlier Garant hatchets were Canadian handles mated to heads sourced from Hults Bruks. These had labels on the heads, but no stampings. Possibly, this is one of those, but I can\'t definitely tell you for sure. You\'ll have to do your own research and make your own decision. The handle length is 13-7/16\". There is a short check in the butt end, best seen in the last pic. There is some light rust and some very minor mushrooming at the poll.
