Another great vintage piece, GBD "Balzac". Unusual series, not found in the catalogues, just like that "Export" I posted yesterday. Everything is just lovely about this pipe. Natural smooth finish in dark stain, scattered straight grain is striking. Pot shape 20 S, where "S" stands for saddle mouthpiece. Angled rim edge, compact size. It's generally smaller and easy to pack and carry with you on the go. Quality of vulcanite stem is fantastic, this is the hand cut version, so much better than molded stems they used to make before. Silver inlaid GBD logo, always welcomed. It's got a flat bottom so it's a smooth sitter. Unfiltered. Very lightly smoked, minimal signs of wear/use.
Do appreciate the amount of work that went into restoring this pipe as close as possible to its original condition.Meticulously cleaned, with fresh coating applied to the chamber for additional protection.
