I don’t know much about this mechanical pencil and don’t remember buying it, but I would have purchased it from a pen collector at the Los Angeles pen show (I usually attend every year).I love the look of it and had never heard of Fyne Poynt, although I believe they were made in England.

I would date the mechanical pencil from circa 1920’s -1930’s. The pencil seems to work fine, your twist the top (just above the two gold bands) and I think it probably accepts 9mm lead as the lead seems to be a fairly large diameter.

I am unsure if the pencil material is hard rubber, celluloid or resin.It has a substantial feel and weight.I see no dings or major scratches on the pencil whatsoever.It does not look like it really was ever used, but rather sat in someone’s drawer for many years.The gold trim is a bit dull and there are surface scratches on the gold trim.Additionally, the gold trim around where the lead extends looks slightly worn on one side, but again for its age it really is in EXCELLENT condition!
