Rare, extremely hard-to-find tin can of French’s instant mashed potatoes. This is rusty gold. I have not been able to locate another. (Please let me know if you do!)

This was a 6 POUND Net can of instant potatoes “made from precooked Idahos” and “makes 16 1/4 quarts mashed potatoes in 1 minute”.

A unique feature of this tin is that the directions are illustrated and show for both machine mixing and hand mixing. Additional suggestions are provided for ensuring quality of the final product. Easy dishes and recipes are also provided such as fish cakes, duchess potato, and shepherd’s pie.

Produced by the same famed company as French’s Mustard, the manufacturer was The R.T. French Company, Manufacturers, located at One Mustard Street, Rochester 9, New York, U.S.A.

The can is rusted but the logo, name, images, and instructions all shine through as a brilliant piece of vintage advertising. The iconic red French’s flag would make an eye-catching display piece or addition to many food brand or print advertisement collections.

Measures approx. 7” tall and 6” diameter. There is a slight warp to the roundness of the rim (pictured) which might be able to be straightened but I will leave that to the discretion of the buyer.
