This is a vintage Darvon Compound 65 apothecary/pharmaceutical jar with its lid. The lid rests on the top of the jar, as is typical of apothecary containers. It was not made to seal. The jar is made of cream colored or custard milk glass. The decal tells the ingredients in Darvon Compound-65, below the name. It does not react to UV light. It’s a decorative jar, or useful for storage. I would guess it was made in the 1960s or 1970s, but the decal and paint stripes are perfect, and fresh looking, so it’s hard to know for sure what its age is.

This jar measures 5 3/8” tall with lid on, and the opening is 2 3/4 inches wide. The base is 3 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, wear, repairs or stains. There is no manufacturer’s mark, only a mold number “1” on the bottom of the jar, and a molded indentation which may indicate the type of mold used. The jar and lid weigh 14.2 ounces before packing for shipping.
