This item is a full box on unused vintage Clark\'s O.N.T six cord thread in black. It contains 12 x 80 yard spools. The box is is good condition, with no tears or marks, but it does have some age spot foxing throughout. The thread is wound on wooden spools and all are completely full and unused, with perfect spool labels.
The Clark Thread Co. was founded in Paisley, Scotland in the 1750\'s and a Mill in New York State was opened in 1863, operating as J & J Clark, then later as Clark & Co. The mill was the nations largest thread maker by 1875. The ONT (\"Our New Thread\") was first produced in the 1880\'s. In 1896, the Clark Thread Co. Merged with J & P Coats, but continued producing under it\'s own label until 1954, when production branding under \"Coats & Clark\" was introduced.
