Vintage Beer Trayfrom the Ginger Man in Houston TX

Own a relic of oneof the legendary Ginger Man, which Michael Jackson called “one of the best beerbars in America.” Founded in the RiceVillage in Houston Texas in 1985, the G-Man was driven out of business by theCOVID pandemic, but its quirky décor lived on in storage until just recently,when all remaining glassware, furniture, tap handles and other decorations wereliquidated to benefit charity. This beer tray, and others like it, adorned thewalls in the original Ginger Man on Morningside Drive in Houston for nearly 40years.

I went to the lastday of the Ginger Man’s charity sale and picked up a bunch of these trayscheaply. I didn\'t want them, but I couldn’t bear to see them just discarded. I’ve heard since frommany folks with fond (if fuzzy) memories of good times at the G-Man who say theywish they’d known about the sale, and had a Ginger Man memento of theirown.So whether you are a collector ofbreweriana or just a fan of the Ginger Man, this is your opportunity:

This sale isfor a single Birra Moretti promotional beer tray which once graced the walls of Houston’sstoried craft brew Mecca. It has two holes in it where it was literally screwed into the wall as a decoratin, but otherwise is in great shape. Checking past sales for for similar trays, I saw that they ranged in price from ~$18 to $35, but mine has holes in it, so the offerding price starts at just $5--a cheap chanceto own a piece of history.
