Vintage/Antique Thousand Faces Porcelain Kutani Satsuma Set of 6 Hand Painted Tea Service.This is a beautiful set. The craftsmanship is amazing! The eggshell porcelain is thin and translucent. The detail in the painting is very fine with rich red/orange, blue, green and gold.
I cannot date the set and if someone can tell me something more about the date I will give you a 10% discount. The pieces are stamped leading me to believe they were made after the turn of the 19th century. Yet they don\'t have \"made in Japan\" or Nippon on them.
The set is in great condition given its age, though there is visible wear on the paint, particularly the gold. And a small chip on the spout. There is also a minor crack to the bottom of one dish. I photographed the two areas showing damage. The crack in the dish is not visible on the top of the plate, and each piece is functional. This set includes the teapot (with lid), two plates and two cups.The measurements of the teapot are as follows: 7\" tall with lid, 6.75\" without lid, and 7\" from handle to spout. The measurements of the cups are as follows: 3.75\" across and 2\" tall. The length of the plate is 5.5\"
