Up for your consideration is a stunning vintage microscope. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This has been displayed in my office for many years. This is a solid brass microscope that had chrome plated knobs and a brass body coated black. It is extremely heavy. I believe it weighs close to 30 pounds. Extremely well built. Great for display. It’s always a conversation piece. This vintage AO Spencer Microscope 278799 is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike. With its solid brass construction and black coating, this microscope is a testament to the quality and precision of American-made instruments in the 1930s. Its unique design, featuring a monocular lens, makes it a standout piece in any collection of antique medical equipment. In its 10x lens there is a black line that runs through the middle of the lens. This does not appear to be a crack or scratch. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be there but it does not affect the use of the microscope.
