Very Large Green and Brown MCM Jar by Denis Vibert:

Matte green and brown MCM jar by Denis Vibert from his Pine Tree Kiln in Sullivan, Maine. The piece is marked with a number four indicating that this was the fourth piece of a canister set. Originally, it would have had a teak lid. I can put the buyer in touch with a woodworker who specializes in Vibert lid reproductions.
Interior is light gray. Stands almost 8 inches tall and has an opening of a little less than 6 inches. In excellent condition with no scratches, chips, or repairs. This unusually large jar would be a superb addition to any mid-century modern studio pottery collection.
Denis and Ruth Vibert’s Pine Tree Kiln contributed significantly and lastingly to the studio pottery movement in Maine. His works have been displayed in museums throughout the world and are in many private collections in the United States.
