St. Venantius of Camerino (Italian: San Venanzio) was a 15-year old Christian who was tortured and martyred by decapitation at Camerino during the persecutions of Decius (c. 18 May 251 or 253). St. Venantius was buried outside the city walls of Camerino, where a basilica was built in the 5th century, and subsequently rebuilt many times. Springs near the basilica were considered miraculous and were used by lepers and people with peptic ulcers to cure their illnesses.
Catherine of Siena, TOSD (Italian: Caterina da Siena; 25 March 1347 – 29 April 1380) was an Italian member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic in the Roman Catholic Church. She was a mystic, activist, and author who had a great influence on Italian literature and the Roman Catholic church.
