THIS 628 WHEAT PAN WAS TAKEN DOWN TO THE BARE METAL WITH SILICA BEADS.IT WAS THEN THOROUGHLY CLEANED WITH WARM MINERAL OIL UNTIL NO MORE CRUDE IS SEEN.IT IS THEN SEASONED WITH HOT MELTED LARD WHICH GOES INTO THE CLEAN PORES. IT IS THEN SEASONED AT 500 DEGREES FOR ONE HOUR.AND SHUT OFF THEN ALLOWED TO SLOWLY COOL DOWN FOR ONE HOUR THIS GIVES A HARDER SURFACE TO THE CAST IRON. IT DOES HAVE SOME FADED NUMBERS.
