VTG COWBOY WESTERN COFFEE MUGS HORSES WILD WEST MARLBORO MAN LASSO ROPING RIDING 1980s This lot is 3 of the four Marlboro man ceramic coffee mugs offered to loyal Marlboro customers through the company's Marlboro Miles program. There are a few very light yellow stains. I didn’t use any bleach to clean them, just hand washed. Inside bottoms have a tiny dot that is within the glaze. See photos. The Marlboro Man was used in tobacco advertising for Marlboro cigarettes. In the United States, it was used from 1954 to 1999. The Marlboro Man was first conceived by Leo Burnett in 1954. These mugs were available only through a membership club. The images initially featured rugged men portrayed in a variety of roles, but later primarily featured rugged cowboys.
