These vintage Alaskan/Kutchin Native American mittens are a beautiful and unique addition to any collection. The tanned hide beadwork and fur detailing make them a true work of art. The provenance of these mittens is not available, but they are believed to have been handmade in the United States by Native American artisans. The culture and ethnicity of these mittens is Native American, and they are a great representation of the Alaskan and Kutchin cultures. The right-hand mitten has a bit of a black area probably from holding something dirty. The man I bought these from said he bought these in the mid to late 1960\'s on a ice fishing trip heading to Canada, and they used them throughout the trip and when they got home, they packed the mittens up and they were never used again. The mittens do have a musty smell from being packed away for so long. The mittens are 14\" long and they have no missing tassels.
