Music and words are complete on three sides of two pages. It is from a 1937 book of college songs. This music is in great condition - of course the paper has that lovely yellowing color of old books. AMHERST COLLEGESince its founding in 1821, Amherst College has become what many regardas the premier liberal arts college in the nation, enrolling some 1,600talented, energetic and diverse young men and women. Amherst Collegewas founded in 1821 by Congregational clergy and Amherst citizensincluding lexicographer Noah Webster and Samuel Fowler Dickinson (EmilyDickinson\'s grandfather). This group sought to create a non-sectarianinstitution that would educate young men - especially poor but talentedstudents - for the ministry and other vocations. Amherst today is anindependent liberal arts college for young men and women. In November1974, after four years of formal review, the Board of Trusteesdetermined (by a vote of 15 to 3) that Amherst would become a collegefor men and women.
