WW2 era 1941 Map of Marrakech, French Morrocco printed in FrenchPurchased by my father, US Air Corps aircraft mechanic stationed there in 1943
This is the map he carried while stationed in Marrakech in 1943.Text is all in French, but is a very detailed map of the city.Commentary about parts of the city is in French on the back of the foldout map.Morocco was invaded by the Allies in November 1942 to establish a base of operation for the fight to regain control of northern Africa from the Germans. The US air base in Marrakech was used for bombing missions.
An interesting souvenir of the North African campaign by a GI in the US Air Corps.
