Vintage 48 Star American Flag produced by Dettra Flag Company. Flag measures approximately 5 1/2 feet x 4 feet (excluding gold fringe). Fabric is \"Glory-Gloss\", NOT rayon or nylon as other Dettra flags. \"Glory-Gloss\" was named for its ability to brighten when exposed to light. Dettra defined \"Glory-Gloss\" as 95% acetate and 5% other fibers.There is an embroidered label bearing the \"Glory-Gloss\" insignia and inscribed in blue: \"GLORY-GLOSS / DETTRA FLAG PRODUCT / MADE IN U.S.A. 52\", which is sewn in place on the top of the hoist sleeve on the reverse. Flag has various imperfections/damages - There are several tears, some of which have been sewn. There is staining across the entirety, mostly toward the edges. One of the gold fringes is torn and frayed. Please see photos for condition. First full size photo is the front, second full size photo is the reverse of the flag. I believe this flag was produced in 1952. Gold fringe indicates this flag was for ceremonial and/or Army use (Dettra also produced civilian flags without gold fringe). Flag will be shipped folded.
