Unusual Mid 1800\'s Pennsylvania State Seal type 3 Piece Button 21mm :

This unusual three piece button is similar to the early Pennsylvania state seal buttons with the two facing horses with an eagle above with spread wings. Later Pa. buttons mostly had eagles with folded wings. No Pennsylvania button that I could find had the horses front feet on a building. Perhaps this is an important building in a battle, or a government building, or? Interesting. The back marks notes it was made in Waterbury Conn. The back has some small holes toward the rim (See pictures). The retaining rim is about 50% intact. The button is mounted in a Riker box.
