Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique lighting. Rare unusual antique Bradley and Hubbard cast iron double oil lamp holder with handle. I have not seen one of these before. Both cast iron lamp holders marked B &H. No mark on bottom. Looks like it dates to the 1880s. The base is quite ornate and has original patina. It has 2 oil lamps with chimneys included. The glass oil lamps look about the same but they are slightly different. One has a Queen Anne burner, the other has an Eagle burner. One still has original brass cap, the other has an old cork in place. Chimneys also close but not an exact match. The wick turners are a bit stiff, but do work. This is a great form. Looks like it could be used on a floor or tabletop. Selling as is with differences in lamp fonts listed above. Interiors where oil fonts sit possibly repainted or in better condition due to protection with font in place. The cast iron base itself has not been painted and has a beautiful patina which didn\'t show well in the pictures. Antique over 100 years old. Good condition for age. Oil burners show their age a little. Wear and minor corrosion on cast iron mostly noticed on bottom. The top of cast iron font holders slightly off due to slight bend on frame. Upon close inspection you may find bubbles, straw marks or imperfections in the glass typical of the period. Selling as pictured. Scarce example. Guaranteed over 100 years old.
