Early 1900 Lot of 6 German & English Art Postcards - Hyena, Peaceable Kingdom, etcThis is an interesting lot spanning the early 1900s. They are described as below:
1) Likely printed in Germany, this card features a painting of a child getting out of the bathtub. This card has a divided back, likely 1907-1914, unposted and not written upon. Some rub on the edges. No rips or tears.
2.) Likely printed in Germany, this card features a painting of a draft horse in collar eating hay with a small terrier type dog laying nearby. The back says \"International Art Publ Co New York, Made in Germany, Serie 333\" This is a very early card. While the back is divided, it\'s not much room for anything but the address... no postage amount listed. Some rub on the card edges and corners. No rips or tears.
3) This post card features a pretty water scene at sunset. A small boat is tied to a post and a little cottage is seen over the hill. The reverse says \"Souvenir Post Card Co, New York, Printed in Germany\" The post card is divided, has a label for 1¢ postage and is not posted nor written on. Estimated to be between 1900-1914. Has rub wear. No rips or tears.
4). This is card features the Edward Hicks painting from 1830 entitled \"The Peaceable Kingdom\". It is from the Henry Francis Du Pont Winterthur Museum and is newer as the museum was not opened until 1951. It is done in Ektachrome by Gilbert Ask. Printed in England by Fine Art Engravers, Ltd. Not posted nor written on. Rub wear on edges. No rips or tears.
5). This is a painting entitled \"Going Fishing\" and features fall colors and a boy walking to go fishing. The reverse lists is at Art Series no 253, Published by Edw. Stern & Co. Inc. Philadelphia. The back is not divided and has room for a 1¢ stamp, placing this about 1901-1907. Faint writing in pencil on one end. Rub wear on edges. No rips or tears.
6.) Perhaps the most interesting piece in this lot - a post card featuring a painting of a hyena standing over a carcass. The reverse has listed \"203-5 Illustrated Postal Card Co, New York- Germany\". This card has a beautiful, unposted stamp attached featuring Santa at the Chimney \"Santa Claus Post\" at the top and \"a Merry Xmas\" at the bottom. The stamp is very beautifully illustrated and colorful.Rub wear on edges, no rips or tears.
