Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE example of a unit logo patch for Third Battalion, Twenty-Fourth Marines. These can\'t be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.

3d Bn, 24th Marines is a reserve unit with subordinate units in Missouri, Indiana, and Tennessee. I believe the arch represents St. Louis where the unit is headquartered. The unit has a distinguished list of battle honors from WWII (as noted on the patch) and more recently served in Desert Storm with 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. (Note also the cities on the patch where individual companies are located.)

Recent Decades: This unit was mobilized in late 2003 and deployed near Fallujah in early 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom! They returned to the US in October 2004. Elements deployed again in September 2009, providing covoy security, traininig, and military policing. Returned home early 2010.

This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Embroidered on khaki twill with merrowed edge and a plastic heat-sealed backing. Colors are clean and bright. See ruler in photo for size comparison.

My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a best-guess estimate for size and weight of items. It\'s not an exact science. (The flat fee is still significantly less than my actual cost for postage.) Items ship in zip-closure poly bags to protect from moisture. Items ship as trackable USPS Ground Advantage parcels within the US.

In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.
