Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! Here\'s a FINE example of a unit logo patch for Second Marine Division. During WWII, Marines actually wore division patches as a shoulder sleeve insignia. The practice was discontinued in 1947, but the patches are still worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items. (This, of course, is not a WWII patch, but a modern reproduction.)

2nd Marine Division has a long, distinguished list of battle honors, beginning in WWII with hard-fought battles in places like Tarawa and Saipan! They have continued their proud history since then, with units from 2nd MarDiv deploying to hotspots all over the globe. For Operation Desert Storm the entire division deployed to Saudi Arabia, where they fought to liberate Kuwait! Division is based at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Recent Decades: Of course, Marines from 2nd Division made history once again in the hard fought battles of Operation Iraqi Freedom! Units from 2d MarDiv served with I MEF in the initial push to Baghdad in 2003. Following that, 2nd Division Marines rotated in and out of Iraq, and many fought in the battle for Fallujah!

This is a NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Thick-textured, full-embroidered with merrowed edge. Please note: There is NO plastic heat-sealed backing for this one. Back of patch is cloth. Colors are clean and bright. See ruler in photo for size comparison.

Packaging & Reliability:

My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a best-guess estimate for size and weight of items. It\'s not an exact science. (The flat fee is still significantly less than my actual cost for postage.) Items ship in zip-closure poly bags to protect from moisture. Items ship as trackable USPS Ground Advantage parcels within the US.

In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.
