Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE example of a unit logo patch for Second Battalion, Twenty-Third Marines. These can\'t be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.

2d Bn, 23d Marines is a reserve unit, with its headquarters in Encino, CA. Subordinate units are based in California, Nevada, and Utah. They are ultimately part of the 4th MarDiv, which is the parent unit for all of the USMC Reserve ground combat elements.

The unit has a distinguished list of battle honors from WWII. Scroll at the bottom of the diamond reads: Tinian • Saipan • Iwo Jima • Kwajalein That makes this a great item for WW2 veterans, as well as reservists and collectors!

Recent Decades: As many of you know, this unit was on the ground for the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom! Apparently also mobilzed again late 2008 for redeployment to OIF in 2009. (Thanks, everyone, for your input!)

This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Embroidered on white twill with laser-cut (non-merrowed) edge and plastic heat-sealed backing. Colors are clean and bright. See ruler in photo for size comparison.

Items ship as trackable USPS Ground Advantage parcels within the US.

In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.
