Offered here is one of the rarest USAF flight jackets ever produced. This is an Experimental Test Sample of the Type L-2A.
This example belonged to USAF Maj. Gen. Charles H. DuBois Jr. He was a Flying Tiger and also became an WWII AAF ACE, credited with shooting down 6 enemy aircrafts in aerial combat. After the war he joined the Missouri Air National Guard, and was recalled to duty in the Korean War, serving in both the Strategic and Tactical Air Commands. He retired in 1970 as a Major General.
The condition of this jacket is amazing considering it’s over 55 years old. All parts are original to the jacket. Both zippers and snaps are working perfectly.
Left chest depicts USAF Command Pilot Wings, impressed “CHARLES DUBOIS”.
Epaulettes depict the Major General rank insignia.
