by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders

CHAIRMAN LINDA STENDER, VICE CHAIRMAN DANIEL P. SULLIVAN, FREEHOLDERS CAROL I. COHEN, EDWIN H. FORCE DONALD GONCALVES, HENRY W. KURZ, FRANK H. LEHR, WALTER D. MCNEIL, JR. AND NICHOLAS P. SCUTARI

PRESENTED BY: CHAIRMAN LINDA STENDER

WHEREAS, GENERAL ALFRED M. GRAY, U.S.M.C. RET. is a former Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and was born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1950 and served in the Pacific where he attained the rank of Sergeant before being commissioned a second Lieutenant in 1952; and

WHEREAS, GENERAL GRAY served two tours in Vietnam, the second as a Major from June to September of 1969; and

WHEREAS, GENERAL GRAY returned to Rahway on May 28, 1989 to serve as Grand Marshal of the 1989 Memorial Day Parade:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Union that it hereby commends and honors GENERAL ALFRED M. GRAY, U.S.M.C., RET. dedicating St. Georges Avenue in Rahway, New Jersey from Linden Avenue to Colonia Boulevard as "GENERAL AL GRAY ROAD", for Veterans Day, November 11, 1997 and placing signs at the corners of Linden Avenue, West Grand Avenue and Colonia Boulevard to indicate this dedication; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution, suitably prepared, be presented to the Mayor of the City of Rahway, as a sincere token of this Board's best wishes.

3. Lucille Masciale. Clerk of the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Union, da hereby certify that the aboue is a true copy of a Resolution, passed at a Regular meeting of the Board of Chasen Freeholders.

2) item is broken/ damaged in transit. Items damaged during transit will be refunded upon timely notification (maximum 7 days from tracked delivery of the item) and receipt of photographic evidence of damage, including photos of the packing. Buyer agrees to keep the damaged item and packing for at least 14 days and present it to a local carrier’s office if requested to aid in the processing of an insurance claim. Fees may apply.
